Since coming on board with iLearningGlobal, Jason Lakes has found much more than what he could have ever imagined.  Jason continues to build an amazing team bringing together individuals from all over the world who share a common bond of empowering and helping others. “When I joined iLearningGlobal I had no idea the power behind this opportunity. The content and materials are wonderful and helped me over double my sales in 2009 vs. 2008, but more than that I am a better husband, a better father, and just a better person.” Jason was approached by Eric Allen at a local networking event to take a look a business opportunity Eric was just getting started. “I had no network marketing experience personally, and wasn’t really looking for any new opportunity.” A month or so after Eric shared the information, Jason actually took the time to sit down and look at the product. It was then he knew that this was good information and something that he might be interested in joining.

Jason recalls, “Growing up my parents had success with a network marketing opportunity that really changed their lives and allowed them to reach new heights. After looking back over a year after joining iLearningGlobal, I now realize how much one moment in time can truly change your life. I am just blessed that I was open enough to give this a shot.” When he first joined iLearningGlobal he was really looking at it as a product to help him energize his successful sales career and give him an additional EDGE in a competitive market. They are my WHY, and iLearningGlobal is going to put us in a position to do some amazing things for others for many years to come.” Jason is still very successful in his full time career, leads a non-profit that is building a Sports Complex for those with special needs in Central Indiana, is having amazing success with iLearningGlobal, and still finds time for his family. “It is many late nights and early mornings that allow me to get things done. I really started seeking out new team members over seas because of the time difference. I could get started later in the evening after my kids went to bed and that was mid day half way around the world! Why did you become involved with iLearningGlobal?

Passionate with marketing systems, I run a community that helps network marketers from all over the world transition to an online approach.

A lot of them had never been in business before. I would refer them to signature books and products, often times written by some of our faculty members. When iLearningGlobal launched in March 2009, I knew this would be a perfect fit. Not only could I use it myself, I could refer my clients to it, plus make it my primary opportunity, and free myself from national boundaries. We achieved presence on 5 continents within 4 months.

How has personal development helped you in your life?

Self-development played a key role in my life. From summer jobs selling books door to door, to getting though my studies, and finally a late career change in aviation decided just before September 2001, I’ve always believed in continuous learning and personal development. I remember fondly of the summer of 1992 where after knocking on doors without success for hours, I sat under a tree and pulled out “Life is Tremendous’ by Charles Tremendous Jones…I went on to generating a large enough check to pay for my studies at the end of the summer…Continuous self-improvement and fundamental core belief got me to where I am today and that includes being a pilot for one of the most prestigious airlines in the world.

How is iLearningGlobal making a positive difference in your life?

I feel a very strong connection with iLearningGlobal, “an unprecedented opportunity to learn with the best from anywhere in the world, and share the dramatic positive impact personal development can have on people’s lives”. It’s given me the opportunity to apply my sales and marketing skills to an area that I am really passionate with. As a result, I went on to developing a marketing system that’s second to none and support marketers all over the world in building their teams.

What are some successes you have had through the application of principles you learned in personal development or iLearningGlobal?

Working hard had implications on my relationships and my wife and I, who already had a tense relationship since my daughter was born, were looking at a major collapse…

And so I turned to the library, which I mostly used for business thus far, and found John Gray’s content. After watching the videos, things changed immediately. I was the first to watch your material and bought 2 of John’s books. My wife found the books on my table, and impressed with how dedicated I was to our relationship, she started watching the videos, and then took one of the books.

One month later, we were so happy, we could not believe it. Our stress levels were completely reduced. We experienced love and tenderness again, and great quality time as a family. We just love each-other again. We started making plans again, and a month after, my wife announced that we were going to have another child.

Why did you become involved with iLearningGlobal?

I loved the angle they have on education!  I try to read books, but I find it goes much slower than I want, so the webinars and videos really help me get what I need in the time I need it.  I also saw this as a business opportunity.  I own a business now and have been looking for another revenue stream to supplement what I currently do.  This seems to be the perfect opportunity to build a team, help many people along the way and make a nice residual income in the process.  Isn’t that what we all want anyway? 

How has personal development helped you in your life?

I can’t tell you how important personal development is.  I started my investment firm when I was 28, and I was going up against people who had more experience in the field than I had years of life.  That can be intimidating and overwhelming at times.  Doing the personal development gives me the foundation and the confidence to go up against anyone… and win!!  Now, at 31, I feel like an old hat in my industry, but continuing the personal development keeps me sharp and focused.

How is iLearningGlobal making a positive difference in your life?

I got connected with ILG back in December.  Since then, I have had the biggest December of my career.  On top of that, I have already had the biggest first quarter of my career and it’s only the first week in February!!  I had large goals for 2010 already, but because of the tools I am learning and the ability to keep focused even during the tough times, I have increased my goals for this year and am on track to reach them.

On a side note, I just want to stress the importance of consistently doing the training.  We as professionals give and give and give, and we have the tendency to overdo it or spread ourselves too thin.  After we have given all we have, we are expected to give more and that can be stressful and hurtful to one’s career.  Consistently doing the trainings and leadership calls helps recharge our batteries, and that keeps us focused and grounded in our careers, so we never run out of juice.  That is very important if you want to succeed!

What are some successes you have had through the application of principles you learned in personal development or iLearningGlobal?

Well, I outlined some of the successes I have had in the above question, but one thing I like to do is search for a training that applies to a particular situation I will face the next day.  I like to watch the videos and do the training in the evening, so I feel energized and refreshed for the next morning.  If I have a particular situation I will be dealing with the next day or so, I like to do a training that targets that specific area.  It has really helped me in some otherwise difficult situations.
